Big
Sur Lodge, nestled in the redwood forests of the Santa Lucia mountains,
is just four miles from the beautiful Big Sur coast. The lodge is actually
located in Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park so we get free passes to all the
state parks in the area.
The grounds include a creek (shown above) that leads up to a waterfall where we can cliff jump into deep pools. For the less daring in our group, there is a heated pool (open 9am - 9pm). The facilities also include a restaurant, general store, and gift shop.
We've booked four cabins that each sleep six with various combinations of single and double beds. All the cabins have porches, and two have kitchens and fireplaces. The management is strict about the number of people in each cabin, but once we get over 24 people signed up, others can book extra cabins.
The kitchens are fully-stocked with appliances and the beds come with linens.
How to get
there:
Big Sur is located on the coast of Central California between
San Luis Obispo and Monterey, 150 miles from San Francisco and 310 miles
from Los Angeles. It is only accessible from Highway 1. For directions,
