Executive
Director — Los Angeles |
ASF's current Executive Director, Iveta Brigis,
will be starting a full-time MBA program at U.C. Irvine this September.
She will be joining the ASF General Board at that time. We are
presently looking to hire a full-time Executive Director to take
her place, working with ASF full-timers John Smart
(President), Jerry Paffendorf (Community Director),
and our large part-time volunteer staff.
This position will be based in Los Angeles for at least Sept.
2005 to Sept. 2006. ED Duties include:
Coordinating
all ASF programs (Accelerating Change Conferences, Future
Salon Network, Accelerating Times Newsletter, Annual
Fusion gatherings)
Running staff
and volunteer meetings
Overseeing
accounting and nonprofit legal requirements
Sponsorships
and Fundraising (shared duty with ASF Staff).
The new Executive Director will be:

about building a network of individuals committed to positive
transformative change in our focus areas
The job ideally starts mid-August 2005 so that we can train the
new ED in the last month before our Accelerating Change
2005 conference.
Base salary is $24,000 + performance bonus of 15% of fundraising
or sponsorship income generated by the ASF team under the ED's
leadership. We reasonably expect at least $100,000 in fundraising
and sponsorships in 2006 and 15% of that is $15,000. ASF has raised
$50,000 in sponsorship income to date in 2005.
This is an excellent opportunity for an optimistic, practical,
and hard-working self starter with a strong interest in building
a future-oriented community. After 2006, opportunities exist for
relocation to future ASF locations in San Francisco or New York.

One
Month Internship, 8/15 to 9/15/2005 — Los Angeles |
ASF has a position for an unpaid internship (room provided, but
not most meals) for any industrious futures student who is available
to come out to Los Angeles for August 15-Sept 15, the month before
our conference. We'd love to have a student with futures and technology
studies interests come discover what we are doing, sit in on our
strategy sessions, and think about whether they'd like to get
